Why do you want to let it go? This reason may be one of the most important parts about letting it go… Your reason, or reasons need to be good, meaning they really need to resonate in your heart of hearts if you are to truly make the changes necessary to be free. They need to outweigh all of the reasons you have created to keep on keeping on, in the same way you’ve been.
I first started smoking when I was 13… Oh my gosh, to even write that, it’s like holy shit, they have been in my life for 20 years! What brought me here to this point of wanting to let go of smoking for good? Well, many failed attempts, feeling like it’s making me older, getting tired of the anxious attachment I have to them that has me feeling stressed and guilty for continuing to smoke, and yet so afraid to let go! Hmm, what else, I don’t want my kids to see me smoke, ever, cause that will just give them “permission” to start smoking in the future, which I so do not want to give. And really, I want to feel healthy, radiant, and confident. And as long as I hold on to these cigs and the inner-struggle that they create, I’m just wasting precious time struggling with it, and essentially, being at war with myself. Also, since my children are small and I take care of them during the day, the evenings are my only time to work and create, and when cigarettes are a part of the evening ritual, they seem to hijack a good portion of time and energy, and so I just want to be free. I want to be F-R-E-E. I want to say good bye and never look back, or look back and see that my time with them is now over, and that they are a thing of the past. A thing I no longer need.
